GREENSBORO, N.C. - Travis Koekemoer broke his own 3000 meter steeplechase school record Sunday as Campbell track and field concluded competition at the Aggie Twilight Classic hosted by North Carolina A&T at Truist Stadium on Irwin Belk Track.
Koekemoer ran an 8:50.57 in the 3000m steeplechase, breaking his own school record set earlier in the week at the Big South Championships. The freshman's time currently ranks No. 32 in the East region this season and No. 9 all-time in Big South history.
Campbell's 4x100m relay team of
Samuel Adams,
Dominique Alexander, Chukwumdi Osuji and
Daequon Carr ran the fastest time in the Big South this season at 40.44 seconds.
Josh Kudrick placed first overall in the javelin, throwing for 56.10m (184' 1") while
Jenna Dankert took first on the women's side behind a 37.09m (121' 8") mark.
The 2021 DI men and women's outdoor track and field selections will be announced Thursday, May 20. Athletes with a top-48 time or mark will qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries held in Jacksonville, Fla., May 26-29.
