NICOSIA, CYPRUS - Campbell rising junior Svenia Nürenberg helped lead her home country of Luxembourg to its second title at the FIBA Women's European Championship for Small Countries on Sunday.
Luxembourg defeated Ireland 69-59 to claim its first title in the event since 2006.
"It has been great seeing Svenia back on the court competing again after missing the 2020-21 season with an injury," Campbell head coach Ronny Fisher said.
"The Luxembourg National Team plays a very unselfish style of basketball and Svenia fits perfectly into that system. It was awesome watching her team win the European Small Countries Championship!"
Nürenberg is set to make her return to the court for the Camels this upcoming season after missing last season with injury.
"We really missed having Svenia on the floor last season and believe she is an important piece in our quest for another Big South Conference Championship."
