Camels pull away from Longwood 69-41

CU wins sixth-straight, off to best start in conference play since 2009-10

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Faith Price scored a season-high 22 points and Luana Serranho added 17 as Campbell rolled by Longwood for a 69-41 win Tuesday night at Gore Arena.

Campbell (9-3, 3-0 Big South) picked up its sixth-straight win and marked its best start in conference play since rejoining the Big South prior to the 2011-12 season.

Taya Bolden recorded her fifth-straight double-double for the Camels (9-3, 3-0). Price, who led all scorers, made 5-of-9 shots from three and added five boards. Serranho paired her season-high point total with six assists, three rebounds and three steals. 

Akila Smith had 12 points and Kyla McMakin 10 for Longwood who shot 29.6 percent from the field and 4.8 percent (1-21) from three.

Campbell used an 11-2 run, a sequence where Price made three 3-pointers, out of halftime to build take a 39-27 lead. The Camels extended their lead to 13 at the end of the period before outscoring the Lancers 19-4 in the fourth quarter.

CU shot 48.3 percent (29-60) and 47.4 percent (9-19) from behind the arc. The Camels finished with a 38-24 edge on points in the paint while outscoring the Lancers 24-15 off turnovers.

Micaila Coleman recorded season-highs with six points, six boards and five assists. The redshirt-senior also tied her career-best with four steals and two blocks in 33 minutes of action.

The Camels finished with a 40-32 advantage on the boards and finished with 21 assists.
