Camels travel to Winthrop Wednesday

Campbell looks to extend 7-game win streak and 4-0 start in Big South play

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Looking to extend its seven-game win streak and perfect start in Big South play, Campbell (10-3, 4-0) heads to Winthrop (2-11, 0-2) Wednesday.

Tip from Winthrop Coliseum is set for 7:00 p.m. and will air on ESPN+ with Mike Vaillancourt providing play-by-play commentary.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Taya Bolden recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead Campbell to a 58-50 victory at High Point last Saturday
  • Luana Serranho chipped in 17 points while adding five assists, three boards and two steals
  • High Point led by as many as 12 following a 10-0 run through the end of the first quarter and into the second. Campbell made it a one-possession game to end the half, closing out on a 9-2 run including five points scored off of turnovers.
  • Campbell took its first lead since the opening minutes on a Brittany Staves layup late in the third quarter. A pair of free throws from Serranho with 4:12 left in the game gave the Camels their largest lead of 12 on the day.
  • After allowing the Panthers to make 7-of-12 field goals and 3-of-7 threes in the first quarter Campbell held the reigning conference champions to 27.9 percent shooting from the field (12-43) and 7.1% from behind the arc (1-14) the rest of the way
