Softball adds Rickert as director of operations

BUIES CREEK, N.C.  - Justin Rickert has joined Campbell softball as director of operations, announced today by head coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley.

"Justin comes to us highly recommend and I am excited for him to join our staff," McDonald-Kelley said. "He has an excellent background in sports, is detailed oriented and will be a great fit for our program. I am glad to welcome him to the Camel family."

Rickert joins joins the Camels staff after working as director of football operations with CollClubSports, a compilation of governing bodies that oversees collegiate club athletics. He also served as an account manager for Rawlings under CollClubSports.

A native of Connoquenessing, Pa., Rickert graduated magna cum laude from Robert Morris with a bachelors degree in business administration and minor in psychology.

While at Robert Morris, Rickert served as team manager for the Colonials' softball team for four seasons. His duties included organizing equipment, documenting scores and stats of games, coordinating player logistics and organizing bus and air transport for away games and tournament. 

Rickert has also worked as a baseball head coach and hitting instructor for Triple Crown Training in Coraopolis, Pa. 

"Since being a manager for the Robert Morris softball team it has been a goal of mine to have an increased role within a collegiate softball team," said Rickert. "I'm honored and excited to take on this role as I look forward to watching this team grow and succeed on and off the field. I also want to thank Coach Sho for giving me this opportunity. Roll Humps!"

Campbell opens the 2022 season on Feb. 11 against Florida A&M and North Florida at the River City Leadoff tournament in Jacksonville, Fla.
