Camels complete first day at Carolina Challenge

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Campbell opened its 2022 indoor campaign after wrapping up competition at the first day of the Carolina Challenge, hosted by South Carolina.

ON THE TRACK

Ja'Travious Stewart finished third in the 60m dash preliminaries, qualifying for the finals of the event where he placed seventh with a time of 6.82.

Andre Douglas led the qualifying round for the 60m hurdles in his collegiate debut for the event with a time of 8.36. He just missed out on advancing to the finals of the event after placing 12th in the preliminary round.

IN THE FIELD

The Camels had a great showing in the long jump as Destiny Bailey-Perkins placed sixth on the women's side with a mark of 5.51m. Shemar Miller and C.J. McBride finished tied for second on the men's side, both with marks of 7.11m.

Campbell returns tomorrow for day two of the Carolina Challenge.
