BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell extended its Southern Conference dual winning streak, topping The Citadel before falling to No. 5 North Carolina State Sunday at the Pope Convocation Center / Gore Arena.
Campbell (7-4, 2-0 SoCon) defeated The Citadel (2-3, 1-1 SoCon) 34-6, winning nine straight bouts to close the match, while the fifth-ranked Wolfpack (7-1) posted five bonus point victories to down the Camels 33-6.
CU extended its SoCon dual streak to 18 matches, dating back to the 2018-19 season, tying the second longest stretch in the conference's history.
Against the Bulldogs,
Chris Kober at 197 pounds and
Shannon Hanna at 141 both collected falls, while No. 29
Korbin Meink notched a 10-0 major decision.

Taye Ghadiali earned a pair of wins over ranked opponents on Sunday, first taking down The Citadel's No. 30 Michael McAleavey, the 2021 SoCon champion, 6-1, and closing out the day with a 9-6 victory over No. 23 Tyrie Houghton from NC State.
Hanna also registered a 2-0 day, defeating NC State's No. 14 Ryan Jack 3-1 in extra time after his third period pin over Joe Clement (6:21) from The Citadel.
In the nightcap, the Wolfpack, with all 10 wrestlers ranked, including five in the top-10 of their respective weight classes, were lifted by a pin from No. 5 Ed Scott at 157 pounds and tech falls from No. 19 Thomas Bullard at 165 and No. 3 Hayden Hidlay at 174, while No. 10 Jakob Camacho edged No. 29
Korbin Meink 3-1 at 125, and No. 18 Isaac Trumble topped
Chris Kober 1-0 at 197 pounds in a pair of tightly contested bouts.
Next up, Campbell will be back in Buies Creek on January 30, taking on a trio of SoCon opponents, including Chattanooga, VMI, as well as Presbyterian.
