Camels down Charleston Southern 61-40

Campbell wins fifth-straight, 2-0 in Big South play

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Faith Price led three Camels in double-figures with 17 points to lead Campbell to a 61-40 win over Charleston Southern Saturday at the Buc Dome.

Campbell (8-3, 2-0 Big South) picked up its fifth-straight victory while Charleston Southern (1-13, 1-2) dropped its second-straight game.

Taya Bolden returned to the lineup recording her fourth-straight double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Brittany Staves added 12 points, reaching double-figures for a second straight game.

Luana Serranho dished out a career-best 10 assists in addition to scoring seven points.

After entering halftime up seven, Campbell pulled away after outscoring the Buccaneers 20-5 in the third quarter.

The Camels, who led by as many as 28, shot 51.1% (23-45) from the field and made a season-high 53.8% (7-of-13) shots from range.

Alyssia Faye and Skylar Baltezegar each scored eight points to lead the Buccaneers, who were held to 31.9% (15-47) shooting from the field and had 21 turnovers.

Campbell outscored the Buccaneers 26-16 in the paint and 10-3 on fast breaks.

Campbell returns to action Tuesday hosting Longwood in the first of three games next week.
