CLINTON, S.C. – Campbell got back in the win column with a three-set win at Presbyterian Saturday afternoon. The win gives Campbell the season sweep over PC after previously beating them in four sets in Buies Creek.
The Camels escaped a tight first set that saw them give away a four-point lead late. Up 23-19, PC rallied to even things at 23 all before a Blue Hose error and kill from Paige put the Camels up early.
The second set was the most lopsided of the day at 25-19. The Camels never trailed in the frame in which they hit a blistering .433. Of Campbell's eight total blocks on the day, half of them were in the second set.
The Camels polished off the match with another close win, this time 25-22. Campbell led by five early but again saw that lead disappear when PC drew even at 16-16. Campbell answered with a five-point run of its own to take the third set and the match.
Paige led the attacking efforts with nine kills on the day, while Green, Wolkow and Clent all added seven each as part of a .316 hitting percentage day.
Emily Mitter posted 21 assists while Claranne Fechter chipped in 15 digs.
Campbell's next match sets up a battle for first place in the league as they travel to High Point on Thursday Nov. 3. First serve at the Millis Center is set for 6 p.m.
