FARMVILLE, Va. - Gianni Boone and Christabel Ezumah scored 14 points each and Campbell defeated Longwood 56-48 Saturday afternoon at Willett Hall.
Campbell (7-6, 2-0) led by as many as 18 points and held Longwood (1-12, 0-2) to 33.3 percent (19-57) shooting from the floor.
Svenia Nurenberg paced the Camels early, scoring all 10 of her points in the first and second quarters. The Luxembourg native gave Campbell its largest lead of the first half as her three-pointer made it 19-9 with 8:20 in the second period.
The Lancers responded with a 13-2 run to take their first and only lead at 22-21. Campbell answered and regained its lead as Boone scored five points and Brittany Staves added a three-pointer to make it 29-24 at halftime.
The Camels extended their lead to 42-32 in the third quarter and opened the final period on a 8-0 run sparked by back-to-back threes from Erika Joseph.
Both Boone and Ezumah each finished with near double-doubles. Boone added a career-high nine rebounds and two blocks along with two assists while Ezumah, who made 7-of-8 shots from the field, added seven rebounds.
Audrey Fuller matched her career-high with six assists to go along with a season-high seven rebounds and three steals.
The Lancers, who dropped their 11th straight game, were led by 13 points by Brooke Anya and eight from Anne-Hamilton Leroy.
CU held a 36-28 edge on points in the paint, 10-4 on second chance points and 14-4 on fast breaks.
Campbell heads to Gardner-Webb Wednesday in a battle of Big South leaders. Tip from Boiling Springs is set for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
