Taylor named Big South Defensive Player of the Week

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After leading Campbell to another 2-0 week, Rebekah Taylor has been named Big South Defensive Player of the Week.

Taylor paced the Camels on the defensive end with six caused turnovers and five ground balls, adding a pair of draw controls at Radford and Longwood. The junior caused three turnovers in both games, picking up four ground balls in the win at Radford.

Led by Taylor, CU opponents accumulated 47 turnovers last week (including a season-high 25 at Longwood) while holding the Highlanders and Lancers to just 22 total shots on goal (including just eight at RU). Through four Big South games, Taylor leads the conference in caused turnovers with 11.

Campbell defeated Radford 18-3 and topped Longwood 17-10.

Camels have now earned Big South weekly honors six times this season.

CU returns home on Wednesday, April 13, hosting Gardner-Webb.
