COLUMBUS, OHIO – Campbell completed the season sweep of Ohio State with a 10-1 win over the Buckeyes Wednesday at Bill Davis Stadium. Campbell allowed just two total runs across both games of the midweek set, the fewest in back-to-back games this season.
 
The win takes Campbell to 32-14, while OSU drops to 17-28. The Camels are now winners of 22 of their last 24. 
 
Ohio State scored one in the first inning before the trio of Jonathan Beymer, Ryan Chasse and Cade Anderson hung eight straight zeroes the rest of the way, scattering just three hits in the ballgame.
 
Jonathan Beymer turned in a strong star on the bump. After allowing a run in the first, he put up four straight zeroes and allowed just one more hit to finish with a line of 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K.
 
He escaped his final inning of work with a big 6-4 lineup double play with the bases loaded.
 
After being shutout for five innings the defensive momentum of escaping the jam carried over to the offense and the bats finally broke through in the sixth to hang three runs on the board. Halstead lead off with a double and scored the tying run on an infield single from Harrill. Neto followed up with a two-run blast down the left field line to put the Camels ahead 3-1.
 
They added two more on a two-run suicide squeeze in the seventh, laid down by Halstead to allow Pierson and Babin to score.
 
The pitching staff didn't need it, but the offense added plenty of insurance with a five-run ninth, highlighted by a two-run shot by Jarrod Belbin off the batter's eye in center field. The damage could've been worse as Campbell left the bases loaded. The runs were scored on just four hits, along with five free passes in the frame.
 
Seven different Camels accounted for the 10 hits, with Belbin, Neto and Pierson all notching two apiece. Neto drove in a team-high three with an RBI double in addition to his home run.
 
Campbell's road trip continues this weekend with a three-game series at High Point. First pitch on Friday night is slated for 6 p.m.
