BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Three Campbell men's soccer standouts rank among the top 20 players in the USL League Two top prospects list compiled by the league's scouting network and conference directors.
Moses Mensah (One Knoxville) is ranked No. 2 on the top 50 list, while
Kemy Amiche (Asheville City SC) is No. 7 and
Jalen James (South Georgia Tormenta FC II) is No. 20.
"The majority of our players are out representing teams all over the country," said Campbell head coach
Dustin Fonder. "We are pleased that so many were coveted and hope all of them have productive experiences. The key for us is to use this platform to continue for them to develop, gain exposure, and most importantly come back ready to attack the fall season. The recent USL rankings featured three of our guys which is always nice. However, I know them all well and they will continue to push to move up the list or make the next list. Our guys know when you put the team first individual recognition is a by-product."
A 3-time All-South Region and Big South all-conference selection, Mensah was ranked as the 53rd-best player in the country this season by TopDrawerSoccer.com. A rising senior left back from Cape Coast, Ghana, Mensah helped lead Campbell to the 2021 Big South regular season and tournament titles and the program's third NCAA College Cup berth in the last four seasons.
In addition to leading all Campbell field players in minutes played (1867), Mensah dealt a career-high six assists (tied for fourth in the Big South Conference). He helped Campbell rank fourth nationally in goal differential (+34) and post the lowest goals-against average (0.98) in the league.
Mensah was a third-team All-South pick in 2019 and a second-team choice in '20-21 before earning first-team honors this fall. He has started all 53 games he has played the last three seasons, including all 21 this fall, and helped the Camels win four Big South trophies and make a pair of NCAA College Cup appearances.
Amiche was named to the 2021 College Soccer News All-Freshman first team. He also made the Top Drawer Soccer first team Freshman Best XI squad. Amiche finished the season ranked fifth in the country in total assists (11) and 17th in assists per game (0.52). He played in all 21 contests and was a first-team all-conference selection. Amiche stood second among Big South leaders in points (25), was T5th in goals (7) and first in assists.
A native of Goussainville, France and member of the Big South all-tournament and all-freshman teams, Amiche produced the most assists in a year since Mitchell Cardenas set up 14 goals in the 2012 campaign. He was named second-team All-South Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
A former U-15 national team member, James has scored 12 goals in 43 career games for Campbell. Last fall, the native of Grand Prairie, Texas was limited to just 8 matches due to injury and scored four goals. He was an All-South Region 2nd-team choice and 1st-team All-Big South Conference in the 2021 season.
James ranked as the No. 15 prospect in USL2 (Summer '21) while playing with Mississippi Brilla. He was a 2019 Big South All-Freshman and all-tournament team selection.

ABOUT USL LEAGUE TWO
USL League Two is the leader in pre-professional soccer in North America. The League holds a vital role as it continues to provide the elite platform for those pursuing professional careers domestically and internationally. Throughout the United States and Canada, League Two franchises continue to provide top pre-professional players the opportunity to train and compete at the highest level while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. With ownership of teams coming from the likes of MLS and USL franchises as well as leading business and sports individuals, League Two serves as the leading development platform for the game both on and off the field.
League Two is more than the leading national pre-professional league. League Two is the defined and proven pathway for players to progress to the ranks of professional soccer, while its clubs become fixtures in the communities where they operate.
USL League Two regular season takes place during the summer from early May to mid-July. Each team plays a 14-match schedule against their respective divisional opponents, seven at home and seven away. In conferences with three divisions, each division winner, plus the highest-finishing second-place team in the conference, advances to the playoffs in the conference semifinals. In conferences with two divisions, the top two teams from each division advance to the conference semifinals. The playoffs occur in late July, with each conference champion advancing to the national semifinals and the winners of those matches advancing to the USL League Two Championship in early August.
