BUIES CREEK, N.C. – With a 3.43 GPA for the 2021-22 academic year, Campbell University's women were presented the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team academic award.
Furthermore, three Campbell individuals –
Mialy Ranaivo,
Marissa Pennings and
Rhona Cook – were named ITA scholar-athlete for 2021-22.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements: 1) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 2) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: 1) have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale).
Campbell (14-7, 7-1) finished as runner-up in the Big South regular season standings and won the last nine matches.
Ranaivo finished her freshman season with a 12-6 overall record in singles play, 7-1 against Big South opponents. The native of Antananarivo, Madagascar won 10 of her last 11 singles matches while splitting time between the top three places in the order and was twice named Big South freshman of the week. She was named first-team all-conference in singles and doubles.
