BUIES CREEK, N.C. – VCU scored twice in the final 15 minutes to rally for a 3-3 draw with No. 30 Campbell Wednesday night at the Eakes Athletic Complex.
Campbell (3-1-2) took a 3-1 lead in the 26th minute that held until Camilo Comi drew the Rams (0-3-2) within 3-2 on a 77th minute penalty kick.
Just 1:42 later, VCU pulled even on Philip Klomp's first goal of the season.
Campbell finished with an 18-10 edge in shots, 13-3 in the opening half. VCU keeper Cory Taylor came on at halftime and made four saves to keep the Rams in the game.
Jalen James scored the first of his two goals on the night just 6:56 into the contest off
Kemy Amiche's assist. Amiche doubled the lead in the 15th minute with a low left-footed shot into the lower left corner.
Comi scored on counterattack to cut the lead to 2-1 in the 22nd minute off Gerardo Castillo's long ball over the top. James then provided the Camels with a two-goal cushion when he nodded in his third goal of the season at 25:36.

Sean Ellis was whistled for a foul on Jean-Claude Bile in the box. Castillo started the equalizing sequence with a corner kick that Ethan Manheim headed on to Klomp.
