BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After scoring twice in a pair of matches,
Kemy Amiche of Campbell University has been named Big South Conference men's soccer co-offensive player of the week. He shared the honor with High Point's Noah Holmes.
A sophomore from Goussainville, France, Amiche scored the game's only goal Wednesday as the Camels defeated No. 12 UNC Greensboro at the Eakes Complex. In Sunday's Big South opener, he scored Campbell's first goal, then set up CU's second when he was fouled in the area, which led to a
Jalen James penalty kick in a 2-2 draw at USC Upstate.
Amiche leads the Big South in goals (5) and points (14) and is second to teammate
Tyler Young with four assists.
The honor marks the fourth time this season that a Campbell player has earned weekly recognition by the Big South Conference. Amiche was named offensive player of the week Aug. 29, while
Daniel Hernandez (offensive) and
Sean Ellis (defensive) claimed Sept. 6 awards.
Campbell owns a 27-1-5 record in its last 33 games (regular season and tournament) vs. Big South foes, including a 21-1-3 mark in regular season play over the last four seasons.
The Camels host Winthrop Saturday (Oct. 1) in a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at the Eakes Complex.
