Camels host William & Mary for Homecoming

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell (2-5-4, 1-3-2) returns to Eakes Athletics Complex to face William & Mary (2-7-5, 1-3-2) on Homecoming. Kickoff from Buies Creek is set for 7:00 PM.

LAST TIME OUT: Campbell - Dropped its second-straight in a 3-2 loss at Elon. Tai-Reece Chisholm scored twice for the Camels. William & Mary - Earned a 0-0 draw at #11 North Carolina on Tuesday.

HOMECOMING HISTORY: Campbell is 27-10-3 in Homecoming matches in the program's NCAA Division I era. The Camels have won its past three Homecoming games, including last year's 3-1 victory over UNC Asheville.

SCOUTING WILLIAM & MARY: William & Mary enter Saturday's matchup with a 2-7-5 overall record and a 1-3-2 mark in CAA games. Sophomore forward Lucas Caldas leads the Tribe with five goals and 11 points on the season. Graduate keeper Cole McNally has started every game between the posts for William & Mary and has a 1.50 goals allowed average with three shutouts this year. The Tribe are led by longtime head coach Chris Norris in his 20th season at the helm.

SERIES HISTORY: Campbell is 1-5 in the all-time series with William & Mary dating back to 1966. Both teams last met in 2017 - a 2-0 loss for the Camels in Williamsburg. Head coach Dustin Fonder is 0-1 against the Tribe. William & Mary won 5-1 the last time both teams met in Buies Creek back in 2016. Campbell's lone win in the series came in 1966 in a 9-1 win.

YOUSFI SCORING: Sophomore midfielder Adam Yousfi leads the Camels with four goals, three assists and 11 points this season. The Lyon, France native has recorded a point in six of 10 matches he's played this season. He ranks fifth in the CAA with 2.40 shots per game and eighth averaging 1.10 points per game. 

POINT LEADERS: Eleven Camels have recorded one point or more led by Yousfi's 11 points (4g, 3a). Midfielder Tai-Reece Chisholm ranks second with seven points on three goals and one assist followed by defender Teva Lossec's five points on two goals and one assist.

LOPES RETURNS: Campbell senior Tiago Lopes returned from injury and made his season debut at Elon. A preseason CAA honorable mention selection, Lopes played 56 minutes and recorded an assist in his first game back this season.

FRENCH CONNECTION: Eight players on Campbell's roster hail from France with all eight making at least one start this season. 24 of Campbell's 36 total points have come from French players this year.

HOME, SWEET HOME: The Camels stand 34-5-10 in their last 49 matches overall at the Eakes Complex, including a 2-1-3 mark this season.  Under 9th-year Coach Dustin Fonder, Campbell is 49-20-11 in Buies Creek.

SILVERWARE COUNT AT SIX SINCE 2018: Between regular season and tournament titles, Campbell has won six overall since 2018 (Big South Double: 2019 & 2021, Big South Tournament: 2018, Big South regular season: 2022).

HEAD COACH DUSTIN FONDER (Roanoke, '94) is in his ninth season at Campbell (86-53-21 overall, 44-19-6 Big South/CAA).  His overall head coaching record stands at 164-116-39, including a 78-63-18 mark in eight seasons at High Point. In 2022, Fonder led Campbell to claim the Big South regular season title, the program's third in last four years, behind a 6-1-1 conference record. He has guided CU to 6 Big South trophies and 3 NCAA appearances (2018, 2019, 2021) over the past five seasons.

NEXT UP: Campbell hosts Gardner-Webb in its final home game of the regular season next Tuesday at 7:00 PM. It will be Senior Night for Angel Bacho, Bissafi Dotte and Kyoji Hata.
