BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Looking to secure a spot in the CAA Championship, Campbell (4-5-4, 2-3-2) travels to Monmouth (7-3-5, 4-1-2) for its regular season finale Saturday at 1:00 PM on FloFC. The Camels sit just outside the conference tournament with eight points.
PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS: Campbell can clinch a spot in the CAA Tournament with a few different scenarios. The Camels will be the No. 5 seed with a win over Monmouth, a Delaware/Charleston draw and a Elon draw or loss at UNCW. Campbell can clinch the No. 6 seed with a win over Monmouth, Delaware/Charleston draw and a Elon win OR with a win over Monmouth, Delaware/Charleston win and a Elon draw or loss.
LAST TIME OUT: Campbell - Picked up a 3-0 shutout win over Gardner-Webb in its final home game of the regular season. Angel Bacho, who was among five Camels honored on Senior Night, netted his first Campbell goal in the 55th minute. Adam Yousfi added his fifth goal of the season in the 74th while Filipe Matos scored his first collegiate goal in the 87th minute. Samy Slimi and Hunter Johnson, who made his collegiate debut on Senior Night, combined for the shutout in goal. Monmouth - Drew 1-1 at La Salle on Tuesday. Arturo McConnochie recorded his third goal of the season in the 9th minute for the Hawks.
SCOUTING MONMOUTH: Gardner-Webb enters Tuesday's match 2-7-4 and 0-2-3 in Big South games. After starting the season with wins over a Wofford and South Carolina along with a 2-2 draw against #8 James Madison, the Runnin' Bulldogs dropped five straight and are currently 0-2-3 in their last five outings. Junior midfielder Caio Hughes leads the team with five assists and nine points. Scott Wells leads the Runnin' Bulldogs in his first season.
SERIES HISTORY: Saturday's game marks the first meeting between Campbell and Monmouth since 1983. Campbell is 1-1 in the all-time series, outscoring the Hawks 11-3 overall. The Camels defeated Monmouth 11-2 in the 1970 season opener in Buies Creek. Monmouth defeated Campbell 1-0 during the 1983 season in West Long Beach, N.J.
YOUSFI SCORING: Sophomore midfielder Adam Yousfi leads the Camels with five goals, five assists and 15 points this season. The Lyon, France native has recorded a point in eight of 12 matches he's played this season. He ranks T-5th in the CAA with 1.25 points per game.
POINT LEADERS: Thirteen Camels have recorded one point or more led by Yousfi's 15 points (5g, 5a). Midfielder Tai-Reece Chisholm ranks second with nine points on four goals and one assist followed by defender Teva Lossec's five points on two goals and one assist. Freshman forward Marco Wright has three points on three assists.
LOPES RETURNS: Campbell senior Tiago Lopes returned from injury and made his season debut at Elon on Oct. 14. A preseason CAA honorable mention selection, Lopes played 56 minutes and recorded an assist in his first game back this season.
FRENCH CONNECTION: Eight players on Campbell's roster hail from France with all eight making at least one start this season. 24 of Campbell's 36 total points have come from French players this year.
HOME, SWEET HOME: The Camels stand 36-5-10 in their last 50 matches overall at the Eakes Complex. Campbell finish 4-1-3 in games played at Eakes this season with its only loss coming to #5/10 Wake Forest. Under 9th-year Coach Dustin Fonder, Campbell is 51-20-11 in Buies Creek.

HEAD COACH DUSTIN FONDER (Roanoke, '94) is in his ninth season at Campbell (88-53-21 overall, 46-19-6 Big South/CAA). His overall head coaching record stands at 166-116-39, including a 79-63-18 mark in eight seasons at High Point. In 2022, Fonder led Campbell to claim the Big South regular season title, the program's third in last four years, behind a 6-1-1 conference record. He has guided CU to 6 Big South trophies and 3 NCAA appearances (2018, 2019, 2021) over the past five seasons.
