CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Five Cavaliers finished in double-figures as Virginia defeated Campbell 74-49 Sunday afternoon at John Paul Jones Arena.
The Fighting Camels drop to 2-1 overall while Virginia improves to 2-0.
Campbell led 35-29 at halftime and by as many as seven in the third quarter before the Cavaliers went on a 21-0 run to pull away in the second half.
Christabel Ezumah recorded her first double-double of the season and ninth of her career with 14 points and a game-high 11 boards. Brittany Staves added nine points and three rebounds while Shy Tuelle tied a career-best with eight assists and blocked two shots.
Camryn Taylor led the Cavaliers with 16 points while Kymora Johnson added 15 points and seven assists.
Virginia shot 40.3 percent (25-of-62) from the field, 20.0 percent (3-of-15) from three and converted 21 of 23 free throws. UVA held a 22-5 advantage on breaks and scored 20 points off 21 CU turnovers.
