BUIES CREEK – The Fighting Camels got back in the win column with a four-set win over Hampton Saturday afternoon.
The win takes Campbell to 13-12, 10-5 in the league, while Hampton drops to 0-15, 0-13.
Chloe Cook paced the Camels with a match-high 14 kills on .303 hitting. The senior got hot late, with 11 total kills in the third and fourth sets.

Gwen Wolkow each tallied 10 kills, with Wolkow also chipping in a team-high 15 digs.
Campbell hit just .167 in the first set, but still managed to get away with a 25-22 opening set win. CU benefited from four Hampton service errors to help the cause. Campbell didn't have much of an answer for Kristine Teivane in the first, who collected six kills for the Lady Pirates.
The Camels led 20-14 in the second set before Hampton stormed back to take it 25-23. Hampton ultimately closed on a 4-0 run to hold off Campbell ever reaching set point. CU hit -.029 in the second, committing nine errors to only eight kills.
Campbell righted the ship over the next two sets, starting with a 25-17 third set with a .308 hitting mark. Cook tallied six kills without an error in the third, and Wolkow added four.
Hampton took an early 4-0 lead in the final frame, with what turned out to be their final lead of the day. Leading by just one, a 5-0 run in the middle of the set put things out of reach for a 25-18 fourth set win.
Campbell and Hampton return to action tomorrow for the final home game of the 2023 season. Campbell will honor its four seniors prior to the match. Senior day festivities begin at 1:50, with the match set to begin at 2 o'clock.
