BUIES CREEK – Campbell came away with a straight-set win on senior day over Hampton to clinch a spot in the CAA tournament in its first year in the league. The Camels are the third team to clinch a spot for the tournament, which will be held Nov. 16-18 at Towson.
 
The win moves Campbell to 14-12, 11-5 on the season to mark the fourth straight season of at least 11 league wins. Hampton falls to 0-16, 0-14 for the year.
 
Chloe Cook had another big day with a match-high 14 kills on .545 hitting. Cook finished the weekend with 27 kills, 10 more than the next closest from either team this weekend.
 
Campbell raced ahead to an early lead with a 25-10 opening set. The Camels forced Hampton into a bevy of errors, with eight errors and only two kills in the opening frame. Meanwhile, Campbell tallied 13 kills to just two errors in the first.
 
Hampton hung around in the second set, but didn't have an answer for Cook who had six kills in the frame. Melody Paige was also a perfect 3-3 in the set on the attack to help Campbell to a 25-21 win.
 
The Fighting Camels polished off the final match of the season at Gore Arena with a quick 25-15 win in the third. Campbell hit a blistering .423 in the final set to close out the match.
 
Campbell wraps up the regular season next weekend at NC A&T. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. on both Saturday at Sunday.
