Camels defeat Lancaster Bible 99-28 on Education Day

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell defeated Lancaster Bible 99-28 in front of a crowd of over 2,700 elementary school children, Thursday afternoon in the program's annual Education Day game at Gore Arena.

With a near sellout crowd of 2,809 in attendance, Christabel Ezumah scored a career-high 23 points and tied her career-high rebounding mark with 16 boards in just 15 minutes of action for Campbell (7-2). Shy Tuelle, who became the 15th Camel to surpass 1,200 points, scored 15 points for CU which led 42-9 at halftime.

Jessica Woods added 10 points and Hadleigh Dill added eight points, 10 boards, four assists and four steals off the bench. Logan Nuckols provided a career-best nine points while Taylor Cotter chipped in a career-high six for the Camels, whose 71-point victory margin was tied for the fourth-most in the program's history.

Raven Hunter led the Division-III Chargers with nine points.

The Camels, who entered the game ranked 23rd in Division I in scoring defense (53.5), 31st in field goal defense (34.9) and 21st in three-point field goal defense (23.3) held Lancaster Bible to just 16.2 percent (11-of-68) shooting from the field and 1-of-22 from three.

CU connected on 49.4 percent (42-of-85) of its shots from the field, including 68.4 percent (13-19) in the third quarter on the day. The Camels out-rebounded the Chargers 69-33 and outscored Lancaster Bible 58-18 in the paint.

Campbell returns to action on Sunday in a 2:00 PM tip at ETSU.
