Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Campbell falls 78-76 at Saint Francis

LORETTO, Pa. – Anthony Dell'Orso had a look at the final buzzer but couldn't get it to drop as Campbell fell 78-76 at Saint Francis in the final game of non-conference play. Campbell wraps up non-conference with a 6-7 record ahead of CAA play.

The Camels shot just 40% from the floor on the night, but made up for that at the foul line, going 22-25 at the stripe to help stay in the contest. Campbell's bench accounted for over half of CU's total points on the evening with 42, led by a career-high 20 from Jasin Sinani,

Broc Bidwell provided Campbell's most points in the first half, coming off the bench to go 3-3 from downtown, swishing all three from the right wing. His third of the half came just ahead of the first half buzzer on a nice find from Dell'Orso to leave Campbell trailing by only three at the half, 40-37.

The Camels started slow in the second half, allowing the Red Flash to open with a 9-0 run as it took Campbell over six minutes to find its first basket of the half. After trailing by as many as 12, Campbell chipped away and cut the lead to as few as two at 67-65 following an alley-oop dunk from Dell'Orso to Kotov with just under five minutes to go. CU kept it at roughly one possession the rest of the way, but couldn't come up with the necessary stop-and-score to tie things up.

Sinani scored 14 of his 20 in the second half, including seven in a row for Campbell during one stretch, and a big corner three to shave the lead back to two with under three minutes to go. Campbell went 16-18 from the charity stripe in the second half, and had three trips to the line from SFU technical or flagrant fouls.

Dell'Orso made just two field goals but finished with 12 points thanks to an 8-8 effort at the line, and Broc Bidwell joined he and Sinani in double figures with 11.

Carlos Lopez Jr. came up big for Saint Francis, pouring in a game-high 22 and going 6-7 from beyond the arc. Cam Gregory added 18 for the Red Flash.

The Camels now turn their sights to conference play and the program's first season of CAA competition. The Camels begin with a pair of road contests at NC A&T on Jan. 4 and at Hampton on Jan. 6.
