BUIES CREEK – The Fighting Camels used a seven-run eighth inning to earn the comeback 9-4 win over Butler Friday night at Jim Perry Stadium. That eighth inning featured a two-run double from Bryce Arnold, and a two-run triple from Jarrod Belbin.
 
The win takes Campbell to 4-1, while Butler drops to 2-3 on the young season.
 
Campbell struggled to figure out Bulldog starter Cory Bosecker, who allowed only two hits and struck out 10 across 5.1 innings. His only blemish was an unearned run courtesy of a failed pick-off attempt to set up a Drake Pierson RBI single.
 
Butler finally got to Cade Kuehler with an RBI single in the fifth, and added three more on a three-run blast from Lukas Galdoni in the sixth to chase the Campbell starter.
 
Aaron Rund came on in relief for the second time this week, and picked up his second win of the season in the process. The senior tossed three scoreless innings, walking three and fanning six. Rund also worked the final two innings against ECU on Tuesday night.
 
Trailing 4-2, the Campbell bats finally came alive in the eighth. With the bases loaded and one out, Logan Jordan popped up on the infield, but Dominic Milano couldn't handle it at first base, allowing a run to score and the Camels to grab the momentum. Campbell capitalized with a pinch-hit two-run double from Arnold to take the lead, and a triple off the center field wall from Belbin two pitches later to blow the game open.
 
Cameron O'Brien worked the ninth inning to close to door on the win.
