No. 18 Campbell faces No. 10 ECU

BUIES CREEK - No. 18 Campbell is set for a top-20 matchup with No. 10 East Carolina Wednesday night at Fayetteville's Segra Stadium. The two teams are meeting for the second game of a season-long three game series that features a home, road, and neutral site.

Wednesday's game will be an audio only stream, available on GoCamels.com or on The Varsity Network App.

Game Time / Probable Starters

Campbell: Hunter Loyd, Sr., RHP
ECU: Zach Root, Fr., LHP

Series History
The Camels and Pirates have met 81 times prior, with Campbell posting a 25-56 record in the series. The two met back on Feb. 22, where Campbell walked off winners in 10 innings over then No. 11 ECU. Logan Jordan provided a pinch hit single up the middle in the 10th to win it.

The bullpen duo of Ty Cummings and Aaron Rund was brilliant that night, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and zero walks to lock things down late.

Know Your Opponent
ECU enters Wednesday with a 16-4 record and has won four straight after sweeping Missouri State this weekend. The Pirates' hallmark has been pitching so far this year, owning the 17th best team ERA in the nation, having allowed more than five runs just three times, one of those being to Campbell in the first meeting.

Zach Root is expected to start on the hill for the Pirates. The freshman left hander has made seven appearances this season, one start and six out of the 'pen. Root owns a 2-0 record with a 2.76 ERA.

Last Time Out
Campbell swept its first Big South series in convincing fashion, out-scoring Winthrop 33-6 across the three games. Six runs is the fewest Campbell has allowed across a three-game series since allowing just five at USC Upstate in May 2021.

Campbell hit nine home runs in the series, and 14 of 20 hits across Saturday and Sunday went for extra bases.
