CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Skyler Curran scored 29 points to lead High Point to a 69-50 win over Campbell Saturday night in the semifinal round of the Hercules Tires Big South Championship at Bojangles' Coliseum.
The second-seeded Panthers (17-13) will face top seed Gardner-Webb (28-4) Sunday's 6 p.m. title game. The Runnin' Bulldogs defeated fourth-seeded Radford 89-81 in overtime in Saturday's first semifinal.
Shakira Baskerville added 14 points and Jordan Edwards 10 for the Panthers, who shot 45 percent overall and outscored the Camels in the paint 28-16.
Christabel Ezumah led third-seeded Campbell (16-15) with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Brittany Staves added 9 points and 7 boards, while
Audrey Fuller and
Erika Joseph chipped in eight points each.
The Camels, who entered the contest ranked fifth nationally in scoring defense (52.0) and eighth in field goal defense (.348), led 11-10 after the first quarter.
Curran scored 17 points in the first half and the Panthers took a 32-26 lead into the dressing room.
The Panthers extended the margin to 51-40 after three periods.
Campbell, which was making its fourth-consecutive semifinal appearance, finished 14-of-45 (.311) from the floor, 5-of-20 beyond the arc, and 17-of-22 from the line.
