BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell has been voted fourth in the Coastal Athletic Association preseason poll in voting by league head coaches. Campbell fifth-year senior Bissafi Dotte has been named to the preseason All-CAA team while senior Tiago Lopes received honorable mention honors.

Campbell, which finished the 2022 season with a record of 11-4-5 overall including a 6-1-1 mark in Big South play, totaled 72 points in the poll. Hofstra, which won its second-straight CAA Championship last fall, topped the poll with nine first-place votes and 98 points. Elon (89) was second with one first-place vote, followed by UNCW (83) which received the final first-place vote. Northeastern (61) followed after the Camels along with William & Mary (53), Drexel (46), Charleston (36), Delaware (27), Monmouth (26) and Stony Brook (14).

Dotte appeared in 18 matches with 17 starts for the Camels during the 2022 season. A three-time All-Big South defender and the 2021 Big South defensive player of the year, he scored against Presbyterian in last season's Big South Championship semifinal and played full minutes in 11 matches. Since his arrival in 2019, Dotte has made 65 starts and 66 appearances as a central defender, helping the Camels total a 51-13-11 overall record.

In his first season with the Camels in 2022, Lopes played in 19 matches making 17 starts. He finished fifth on the team with 1,360 minutes played and earned All-Big South second team honors. The Porto, Portugal native scored his first goal in a Campbell uniform in a regular season match against Presbyterian.

Head coach Dustin Fonder returns five starters from last season aside from Dotte and Lopes, including All-Big South first team midfielder Kyoji Hata and Big South all-freshman selection Adrien Gameiro.

Campbell wraps up exhibition matches at NC State and at home against Chowan this week before hosting South Carolina in its season opener on Thursday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m.
