Hofstra rallies to tie Camels 2-2

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Hofstra scored with 44 seconds remaining to rally for a 2-2 draw with Campbell Saturday afternoon at Eakes Athletics Complex.

After a scoreless opening half, Campbell (1-1-4, 0-1-2) went ahead in the 49th minute. Adam Yousfi played the ball to Marco Wright down the right side. Wright, making his first career start, took one touch into the box as Teva Lossec buried the ball into the upper corner of the net.

Hofstra (4-1-2, 0-0-2) answered in the 58th minute as CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Eliot Goldthorp, scored his first goal of the day.

The Camels responded in the 63rd as Alexy Issa Alban, who came on just two minutes prior, dribbled to the end-line before passing it across the middle of the net. The pass found a charging Tai-Reece Chisholm who scored his first career goal in a Campbell uniform.

Yousfi nearly added a third goal for the Camels in the 86th after chipping the ball past the keeper before Hofstra's Shane Salmon cleared it off the goal line.

Hofstra pulled even again as Goldthorp found his second of the day with less than a minute remaining.

Samy Slimi made a career-high six saves on the day for the Camels who remain unbeaten at home this season. The Camels stand 33-4-10 in their last 47 matches overall at the Eakes Complex, including a 1-0-3 mark this season.

Campbell will take a week off before returning to action at UNCW next Saturday.
