Campbell defeats Northeastern 54-43 for first CAA road win

Ezumah leads all scorers with 17 points

BOSTON, MA. - Campbell picked up its first-ever CAA road win after defeating Northeastern 54-43 Sunday afternoon at the Cabot Center.

Christabel Ezumah led all scorers with 17 points as Campbell improves to 10-9 overall and 3-5 in conference games. Northeastern falls to 7-10 overall and 3-4 in the CAA.

Ezumah made 8-of-10 from the field and added six boards and one block. The Sugar Hill, Ga. native now ranks second in program history with 112 blocks in her career.

Audrey Fuller added eight points and two steals while Gemma Nunez provided six points and tied her career-best with 10 rebounds.

The Huskies were led by 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists from Derin Erdogan and 10 points from Deja Bristol.

Campbell went on a 14-0 run in the first quarter and never looked back, twice holding the Huskies scoreless for over five minutes in the opening half.

Northeastern made it a six-point game as Erdogan made her first of three 3-pointers in the final period. The Camels answered with an 11-3 run to close out the game led by a pair of baskets from Ezumah.

The Camels shot 48 percent (22-of-46) from the floor, scored 16 points off 13 Northeastern turnovers and outscored the Huskies 36-20 in the paint. Campbell limited Northeastern to shoot 31 percent (17-of-54) from the field and 29 percent (6-of-21) from three.

Campbell takes next Friday off before returning to play at Elon on Sunday, Feb. 4.
