BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Noah Gold's brace lifted Charleston past Campbell 2-0 Saturday night at Eakes Athletics Complex.
Campbell (6-5-4, 2-3-1) drops its third straight match while Charleston (9-4-2, 3-1-2) picks up its first win in its last six matches.
Gold scored both goals off corners for the Cougars. In the 32nd minute Leonard D'Ambrosio sent a ball in for Gold who headed it down and in off the turf. Gold provided again in the 57th minute, scoring off service from the corner by Ezra White.
Campbell had its best look at a goal early as a free kick from Tai-Reece Chisholm just outside the 18-yard box hit off the top of the woodwork and out.
Charleston held a 12-7 edge on shots, holding the Camels without a shot on goal. The Cougars took nine corners to just three for Campbell who fall at home for just the 13th time in 90 matches under head coach Dustin Fonder (55-13-22).
The Camels return to action on Tuesday against former Big South foe Winthrop at 7 PM on FloFC.
