Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - Shorthanded Campbell scored twice in the second half Saturday to earn a 3-2 victory over William & Mary at Martin Family Stadium.
Campbell (8-5-4, 3-3-1) played the final 73 minutes down a man after Lilian Fichelle was sent off for a foul on a break by the Tribe (4-10-1, 2-4-1).Â
Gabe Ruitenberg capitalized on the booking by scoring in the 22nd minute for William & Mary.Â
The Camels equalized later in the 38th minute as Teva Lossec sent a ball into the Tribe box from near midfield, connecting with Filipe Matos who finished with a right foot strike off the volley.Â
Campbell took a 2-1 advantage in 66th minute as Matos dribbled to the Tribe six-yard box and crossed a ball off a defender for Lossec who knocked in his second goal of the season.
Tai-Reece Chisholm scored what would go on to be the game-winner in the 74th minute, beating his defender inside the box and firing on target inside the goal area to make it 3-1.
The Tribe responded moments later in the 76th minute as Thor Sigurjonsson headed in a ball off an assist by Ruitenberg.Â
Campbell allowed just one shot over the final 14 minutes as keeper Max Leviton picked up his second win of the week.
William & Mary held a narrow 13-12 edge in shots, 5-3 in shots on goal. Both sides finished with one corner apiece.
Campbell remains in the mix for a CAA Championship berth with one match remaining in the regular season against Elon next Saturday in Buies Creek at 7 PM.Â
