Camels fall to Hofstra

BUIES CREEK - The Camels were downed in straight sets by Hofstra at home Sunday afternoon. The loss keeps Campbell in search of its first CAA win of the season.

Campbell now sits at 2-14, 0-6 in league play, while Hofstra improves to 9-6, 5-1.

The closest set of the day came in the first, as the Pride took it 25-20. The frame featured five ties and three lead changes. Campbell was down just a point at 18-17, but couldn't find a late push to win the first set.

The offense stalled out in the second, committing 12 attack errors in the frame en route to a 25-13 second set defeat. 

Campbell hung around early in the third set, but an 8-0 run for the Pride ballooned a one-point lead into nine to effectively put the match away, as the third set finished at 25-16.

Gwen Wolkow led the Camels in kills again with 10 on the day. Ashley Artura and Riley Dean each tallied ten digs.

The Camels are back on the road next weekend with a pair of matches at Elon on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 o'clock.
