LAST TIME OUT
Sincere Brown hauled in 150 yards and two touchdowns receiving, leading Campbell to a 21-7 Homecoming win over visiting North Carolina A&T on Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium.
The Camels (3-5, 1-3 CAA) welcomed a sellout crowd of 5,591 to the Homecoming victory, picking up their first CAA win of the 2024 season, and Campbell's second consecutive win in the series over the Aggies. Saturday's sellout marked the 25th in Barker-Lane Stadium history (since 2008).
Campbell found the endzone on two of its first three drives, including a 64-yard strike from
Chad Mascoe, Jr. to Brown on the game's opening possession, to take a 14-0 first quarter lead.
Brown ended the night with five catches for a career-high 150 yards and two scores, his fourth time over the century mark and second multi-TD game this season. Chandler completed 8-of-12 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, adding 57 yards rushing with another TD, while
JJ Cowan rushed for a team-high 74 yards on 11 carries.
The CU defense, meanwhile, limited the Aggies to just 92 yards rushing, a season-low for the Camels, and a single score, its fewest points allowed to a conference opponent since 2018 (11/10/18 at Presbyterian, W 34-6).

Chad Mascoe, Jr. has thrown for 1,611 yards (201.4 per game) with eight touchdowns, competing 67.8 percent of his attempts, while also rushing for a score.
Sincere Brown owns 754 yards receiving with eight TDs, ranking fifth and fourth in the FCS, respectively, while
Mike Chandler II has rushed for a team-high 299 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, one of three 200-yard rushers for the Camels along with
JJ Cowan and
Mark Biggins.
Defensively,
Jalen Brooks has notched a team-high 76 tackles with 4.5 stops for loss, an interception and two fumble recoveries, while
Jojo Pace has tallied 59 tackles with two interceptions.
THE MATCHUP: ELON
Elon heads into Saturday's matchup at 2-6 on the season and 1-3 in CAA games following last week's 41-21 loss at Hampton. The Phoenix were ranked as high as No. 22 in the Stats Perform FCS Top-25 Poll earlier this season (Oct. 9).
Matthew Downing has thrown for 981 yards and six touchdowns with three interceptions on the season, while Chandler Brayboy has hauled in 30 catches for 447 yards with three touchdowns. TJ Thomas, Jr. has also rushed for 588 yards and five scores. Defensively, Khalil Baker and Caleb Curtain own 48 tackles apiece, combining for 6.0 stops for loss.
Saturday will mark the third modern era (since 2008) meeting between the Camels and Phoenix in football, all coming since 2019. Elon is 2-0 in the series, with both meetings in Buies Creek, including last season's 28-24 contest. Both games have been decided by a total five points.
