Camels fall at Northeastern

BOSTON - Campbell dropped its final road game of the season in four sets Saturday afternoon at Northeastern.

The loss drops Campbell to 6-20, 4-12 in the CAA.

Campbell fell behind early in a 25-14 first-set. Northeastern used a 6-0 push midway through the set to gain some distance from Campbell, who had hung around for the early stages.

The Camels answered by hitting .419 in the second to even the score at 1-1, taking the second 25-19. Victoria Tupy led the set with four kills while Campbell posted three blocks at the net as well. 

Campbell posted 14 kills to Northeastern's 10 in the third set, but too many errors cost the Camels in a narrow 26-24 defeat. Campbell had numerous opportunities to take control of the match leading 24-20 but couldn't find that final point and surrendered a 6-0 Husky run to drop the set. 

With momentum on the host's side, Northeastern put the match away with a 25-19 fourth set. Aley Clent and Gwen Wolkow each had five kills in the final frame.

Clent  posted a match-high 14 kills on .448 hitting. Wolkow joined her in double figures with 13. Maddie Converse posted 30 assists and Riley Dean tallied 13 digs. 

Campbell returns home to host Stony Brook in the final weekend of the season. The teams will play Friday night at 5 p.m. with the season finale Saturday at 1 p.m.
