Camels fall to UNCW

BUIES CREEK - Campbell settled for a split weekend with a 3-0 defeat to UNCW Saturday afternoon. The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Camels.

After a strong offensive showing yesterday, the Camels hit .072 today as the UNCW front line posted 11 total blocks. 

Campbell had its best chance to grab a set in the first before ultimately falling 26-24. Campbell had a set-point opportunity, but wasn't able to cash in. UNCW answered with three points in a row to grab the 1-0 lead. 

UNCW cruised the the next two sets, hitting .462 in the second and .290 in the third to down the Camels 25-14 in each set. 

Gwen Wolkow led the Camels with nine kills on the day, Ashley Artura handed out 12 assists, and Riley Dean led with 13 digs. 

Campbell returns to action next Saturday and Sunday at Northeastern. Both matches will start at 2 p.m.
