BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell's challenging spring schedule continues this weekend when the Camels travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to compete in the Florida State Match Up at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
Thirteen of the 14 teams in the event are ranked among the nation's top-100, while the country's No. 1 junior college program – Daytona State – rounds out the field. No. 94 Campbell and No. 100 Delaware will represent the Coastal Athletic Association against the likes of No. 19 Duke, No. 20 Florida State, No. 23 SMU and No. 25 Georgia. Ten teams in the FSU Match Up compete in Power 5 conferences.
Earlier this week, Campbell finished 12th at the Briar's Creek Invitational, where all 17 teams in the field were ranked among the top 105 in the country. Campbell posted a season-best 285 total in the opening round, while
Izabella Grimbrandt and
Sanna Lundmark both recorded season-low rounds.
The Florida State Match Up begins with double tee times Friday at 8:30 a.m. and continues through Sunday on the par-72, 6250-yard Seminole Legacy GC, originally designed by Bill Amick and recently renovated by the Nicklaus Design Company.
Head coach
John Crooks and associate head coach Ashley Sloup will enter a lineup that includes one senior (Lundmark), a redshirt sophomore (Grimbrandt), one sophomore (
Isabella Hahne) and two freshmen (
Mira Berglund and
Alicia Olsson).

The Coach: Now in his 34th year in charge of the Campbell men's golf program and 33rd as head coach of the CU women,
John Crooks has been named league coach of the year 23 times in his tenure. His teams have combined to earn 35 NCAA post-season trips, including 11 in a row for the women. His teams have won 160 tournaments and with 99 career tournament titles, Crooks trails only Dan Brooks of Duke (141) on the all-time coaching victories list among Division I women's coaches. He has guided his teams to 27 league titles, including 19 on the women's side and eight in men's competition.

Freshman
Mira Berglund (Oernskoeldsvik, Sweden) owns a 74.9 scoring average over six events. She is coming off a T21 finish (71-75-73—219) at the Briar's Creek Invitational, where she recorded her fourth par, or better, round this season. Berglund posted a season-best T11 finish (72-69-81—222) at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, where she shot a collegiate low 3-under in the second round.
Senior
Sanna Lundmark (Skellefea, Sweden) carries a 75.9 scoring average into the Florida State Match Up. She is a three-time WGCA All-America Scholar and all-conference performer and owns six career top-10 finishes. Lundmark's best finish of the season was a T29 (73-75-74—222) outing at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational. She placed T34 at the Briar's Creek Invitational (70-75-77—222), where she recorded a season-best score in the opening round.
Red-shirt sophomore
Izabella Grimbrandt (Stockholm, Sweden) owns a 75.2 stroke average while playing all 21 rounds this season. She turned in her best finish of the 2023-24 campaign, T17 at the Sea Best Intercollegiate (71-74-79—224). She fired a season-low 2-under-par 70 in the opening round of the Briar's Creek Invitational (70-80-75—225), where she tied for 45th. Grimbrandt has one career top 10 finish (T8 at the 2022 Golfweek Fall Challenge).
Freshman
Alicia Olsson (Amal, Sweden) has compiled a team-leading 74.0 scoring average, including seven rounds of par, or better, golf through Campbell's first seven events. She posted a T7 individual finish in her collegiate debut at the Golfweek Fall Challenge (73-71-70—214, +1) and closed the fall campaign with a T5 (76-75-71—222) showing at The Southern. Olsson opened the spring campaign with a T7 finish (72-73-75—222) at the Sea Best Intercollegiate.
Sophomore
Isabella Hahne (Kungsbacka, Sweden) closed the Gators Invitational Mar. 2 with a collegiate-low 68 on the par-70 Mark Bostick GC layout, which was originally designed by Donald Ross. After shooting a 79 in the opening round, Hahne played the final 36 holes even par (72-68) to match Olsson with a team-best T38 finish. She turned in her third top-20 outing of the season at the Sea Best Intercollegiate (T13, 74-70-79—223). Hahne was named CAA golfer of the week after finishing T8 at the Red Raider Invitational (70-73-72—215). Hahne owns a 75.0 stroke average this season and the 2023 Big South freshman of the year has four top-10 finishes in 17 career starts.
