Fanni Gronlund is tied for 32nd individually and Campbell 13th on the team leader board after Sunday's opening round of the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate at Cherokee Country Club.
Gronlund shot an opening-round two-over 73 on the par-71 Donald Ross layout.
Isabella Hahne and
Taylah Ellems are tied for 48th at 4-over 75, while
Jade Potter is T54 (76) and
Linn Svedlund T68 (79) heading into Monday's second round.
Host Tennessee leads the 15-team field at 4-under (280), three strokes ahead of Oregon State (283). Campbell finished Sunday's play 15-over par (299).
Anna Behnsen of South Alabama shot an opening-round 4-under 67 and holds a one stroke edge of Kyra Ly of Oregon State and Tennessee's Madison Messimer entering Monday's action.
Campbell will be paired with ETSU and Jacksonville State Monday and start from the 10th tee at 10:45 a.m. The 54-hole event concludes Tuesday. Live scoring is available at
