Laurynas Vaistaras and Gediminias Mokseckas added 13 and 12, respectively. Mokseckas did so on 3-6 from beyond the arc to continue his hot shooting after hitting four triples at Charleston.
In a game without much rhythm, the offense still put up 19 assists to just six on 24 made buckets while turning it over only six times. Mokseckas led the way with four assists and no turnovers, while four other Camels handed out three assists each.
Campbell started hot with three made threes before the first media timeout to jump out to an early nine-point lead, the largest of the day for either team. Jalal McKie responded with four first-half threes to lead all scorers with 14 at the break to take teams to the locker rooms tied at 33-33.
CU's defense tightened up in the second half and held the Aggies to 33% shooting and only 29 points in the second half. Campbell's offense improved to 46% shooting after the half, led by eight points each from Dell'Orso and Vaistaras.
Campbell led by just one with 20 seconds left as A&T elected not to call a timeout as they carried the ball into the frontcourt. Shell's floater was no-good on the last good look the Aggies got. Mokseckas hit the front end of a 1-and-1 with 3 seconds left, and a miss on the second forced a 60-foot heave at the buzzer that missed wide for a 64-62 final.
After CU held the early lead, the game featured 14 lead changes and six ties as the game changed hands multiple times down the stretch.
Tasos Cook turned in a solid performance off the bench with four points, three rebounds, and some stiff defense down the stretch.
Omar Harris also hit a three-pointer off the bench.
