BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell baseball dropped the series finale against Delaware, 8-5, Sunday afternoon at Jim Perry Stadium.

The Blue Hens (11-11, 2-1 CAA) scored the first run of the game with an RBI double from Andrew Amato.

The Camels (17-6, 1-2 CAA) jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second with two two-RBI home runs. Reed Stallman sent one off the scoreboard in right to drive in Andrew Schuldt. Later in the inning, Lawson Harrill hit his 10th home run of the year to left field, scoring Chandler Riley.

Delaware then scored seven runs answered over the next six innings, taking an 8-4 lead into the ninth. Two RBI singles in the third from Joey Loynd and Aiden Stewart made the score 4-3 in favor of the Camels.

The Blue Hens took the lead back in the sixth with two RBI singles, one from Brett Lesher and one from Eric Ludman.

A throwing error by Campbell scored another run for Delaware in the seventh inning. The Blue Hens scored another two runs in the eighth with an RBI single from Amato and an RBI double from Stewart.

The Fighting Camels still had a chance in the bottom of the ninth inning. Harrill and Payton Howard got on base to start the inning, and Dalen Thompson scored Harrill with an RBI single.
