Campbell finishes 4th at CAA Championship

Four Camels among top 14 individuals

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – Alicia Olsson finished fifth and Campbell was fourth on the team leader board after Sunday's final round of the Coastal Athletic Association women's golf championship at The Reserve Club at St. James.
 
Delaware won team honors (312-305-292—909), four shots ahead of both College of Charleston (309-310-294—913) and UNCW (308-304-301—913).  With four golfers among the top 14 individuals, Campbell (312-209-304—925), finished 12 shots in front of fifth-place Elon.
 
Campbell freshman Alicia Olsson (76-74-77—227) finished fifth and earned a place on the CAA all-tournament team.  Sophomore Isabella Hahne (79-81-72—232), tied for 10th, freshman Mira Berglund finished T12 (81-75-77—233) and redshirt sophomore Izabella Grimbrandt T14 (76-80-78—234).  Senior Sanna Lundmark tied for 33rd (83-80-82—245).
 
Hahne recorded the Camels' low round of the tournament with an even-par 72 on Sunday.  She made 16 pars and a birdie on the par-4 11th.  The only blemish on her scorecard was a bogey on the par-3 second hole.  She earned a top-10 finish for the second year in her conference tournament following a T5 in the 2023 Big South Championship.
 
Delaware's Lilia Henkel (79-71-73—223) claimed the individual title when she chipped in for birdie on the first playoff hole.
 
A freshman from Amal, Sweden, Olsson tied for third in par-5 scoring (-1), made 32 pars, five birdies and an eagle over the 54-hole event.  Grimbrandt and Hahne tied for second in the field with 34 pars.

The Course – The Reserve Club at St. James (Par 72, 6013 yards)
Certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, the Reserve Club is a Nicklaus design and features rolling terrain and native vegetation while emphasizing strategy and shot making.  St. James is located near the mouth of the Cape Fear River in Brunswick County, less than a two- and one-half-hour drive from the Campbell University campus in Buies Creek.
