Camels welcome Blue Devils for midweek action

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Campbell Fighting Camels (25-13) return to action as they host No. 6 Duke (29-11) Tuesday night at Jim Perry Stadium.

Reed Stallman and Charlie Meglio each hit two home runs this past week, and Meglio led the team with a .389 batting average in the last four games. Stallman had a .500 on base percentage along with seven RBI to lead the Camels.

Zach Sabers returns to the mound after his outing against N.C. State last Tuesday when he went four innings and allowed only one run with five strikeouts and one walk.

Series History

This is the 47th matchup between the Camels and the Blue Devils since 1963. Duke won the previous contest this season, 11-1.

Know Your Opponent

Duke is coming off a 3-1 week with a series victory over No. 23 Virginia Tech. Two of the three games went to 11 innings in Blacksburg, and the Blue Devils won the final game, 13-10.

Ben Miller leads the team and is third in the country with a .443 batting average, and he also holds a .785 slugging percentage. He's fifth in Division I in hits, totaling 66.

Each of the two teams has four batters with 10+ home runs, but Campbell edges out Duke by seven homers as a team.

Last Time Out

The Camels dropped two of three games in their weekend series at Hofstra, losing in extra innings in the finale.

Haire Wins 300

Head Coach Justin Haire won his 300th career game on Saturday, March 16 against Valparaiso. In just over 10 seasons, the Camels have averaged over 30 wins a year during his tenure.
