Ten Camels head to NCAA East Prelims

BUIES CREEK - Ten Fighting Camels will represent Campbell at the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor East Preliminary this week from Wednesday through Saturday (May 22-25). Four women and six men will make up the team heading to the regional meet in Lexington, Ky.

Women's qualifiers include Jaidyn Ramsey, Brianna Clayton, Chastity Pickett, and Aaliyah Brown-Muhammad. On the men's side, Jamal Miller, Dominique Alexander, Jamel Miller, De'Shawn Ballard, Glenn Skinner, and C.J. McBride will all compete at the East Preliminary. 

The top 12 performers in each region will advice to the NCAA Championship at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Women
Jaidyn Ramsey
Ramsey will run both the 100m and 200m after winning both at the CAA Championships. Her time of 11.26 in the 100 ranks 17th in the East, and her mark of 23.28 is  good for 49th.

Brianna Clayton
Clayton finished the outdoor season tied with Ramsey in the 200m at 23.28, good for 49th and a qualifying spot in the preliminary meet.

Chastity Pickett
Pickett is among the nation's best in the 400 hurdles with a qualifying time of 55.70, ranking fourth in the east and ninth in the nation. Pickett took home gold in the event at the CAA Championships.

Aaliyah Brown-Muhammad
Brown-Muhammad ran a 13.66 in the 100 hurdles at the CAA Championships and finished just off the podium in fourth, and posted a 13.31 in qualifying. 

Men
4x100 Relay
Jamal Miller, Dominique Alexander, De'Shawn Ballard, and Jamel Miller will make up the 4x100 team. The Campbell men's relays swept the CAA meet, winning both the 4x100 and 4x400. The 4x100 team ran a 38.80 at the CAA Championshipss for the ninth-best time in the East this season. 

4x400 Relay
Ballard, Glenn Skinner, Miller and Miller will run the 4x400 in Lexington. The quartet ran a 3:06.40 at the CAA Championships to take home gold and post the 31st fastest time in the East. 

Jamal Miller
In addition to both relays, Jamal will run individually in the 100m after a qualifying time of 10.15 at the Aggie Classic to rank 27th. He also won gold at the CAA championships in the same event with a time of 10.35.

Dominique Alexander
Alexander finished second to only Jamal Miller in the 100m at the CAA Championships, running a 10.22, ranking him 41st in the region to qualify for the preliminary meet. 

Jamel Miller
Jamel will also run both relays plus the 400m. Jamel clocked a 45.63 at the CAA Championships to claim gold and tie him for 13th best time in the East. 

De'Shawn Ballard
Along with Jamal Miller, Ballard will run both relays and the 400m. Ballard posted his qualifying time of 45.93 at the Florida Relays on Mar. 29, good for 22nd in the region.

Glenn Skinner
Skinner is part of the men's 4x400 team, running the second leg that took home gold at the CAA Championships.

C.J. McBride
McBride grabbed gold in both the high jump and triple jump at the CAA Championships. His mark of 2.19m in the high jump puts him sixth in the east, while his triple jump mark of 15.59m ranks him 27th.
