BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell goalkeeper Sierra Vance was recognized as the Coastal Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

A junior from Fairfax, Va., Vance is the first conference defensive player of the week winner for Campbell since 2022, and the first goalkeeper to win the award since Reaghan Duval in 2019.

Campbell's defense, anchored by Vance, allowed only one goal in two matches this week, highlighted by a 2-1 victory over NC State. The win was Campbell's first against the Wolfpack in program history.

Following her three saves against NC State, Vance had a season-high five saves on Sunday in a 0-0 draw on the road against East Carolina.  

Vance and the Camels return to action on Thursday, as they hit the road to face former Big South foe Charleston Southern at 3:00 PM.
