Campbell and Davidson battle to scoreless draw

Camels remain unbeaten, pick up third-straight shutout

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Campbell and Davidson played to a scoreless draw Monday night at Alumni Stadium.

Campbell (3-0-1) remains unbeaten on the season after securing its third-straight shutout. The Camels finished with a 13-6 advantage in shots, holding the Wildcats (0-1-2) without a single shot on goal.

Jake Roberts had the lone shot on goal in the 14th minute as his header towards the bottom right corner forced a diving save from Davidson keeper Lucas Beltran.

The Camels fired off three more chances later on in the first half as Filipe Matos' strike from outside the box just cleared the bar in the 21st minute. A minute later, Teva Lossec received a ball down the right side but shot into the side netting. Lossec had another look in the 29th minute in front of goal but had his shot blocked.

Davidson's best chance came in the 82nd minute as Noah Louzan received a through ball into the box with one man to beat but hit his shot left and out of play.

Samy Slimi made his season debut between the pipes for a Campbell defense that hasn't allowed a goal in 348 consecutive minutes.

Campbell remains on the road as it travels to Boston for its first CAA matchup of the season Saturday against Northeastern at 1 PM.
