CHARLESTON, S.C. – Campbell volleyball fell to College of Charleston in game two on the weekend Saturday afternoon in three sets at TD Arena.
The Cougars (11-4, 4-0 CAA) controlled play from the beginning, winning the first set, 25-15, over the Camels (2-12, 0-4) on the back of two separate four-point scoring streaks.
Campbell kept the second set closer, fending off five set points before falling, 25-19. Campbell struggled to get it going on the offensive end, hitting .080 with 26 kills and 19 attacking errors.
In her second game back in the starting lineup,
Gwen Wolkow led the Camels with 11 kills and two aces.
Maddie Converse and
Ashley Artura each contributed nine assists
Charleston did not allow the momentum to carry over into the third set, winning 25-8 in decisive fashion. The Cougars ended the match with nine service aces and eight blocks while hitting at a .402 clip.
The Camels are back on the court next Saturday as they host Hofstra, beginning at 1:00 in Gore Arena.
