Camels make first trip to Stony Brook

BUIES CREEK - Campbell makes its first-ever trip to Long Island for two games this week beginning with Stony Brook Thursday night at 7 p.m. That one will be broadcast on FloCollege and locally on SNY. The Campbell radio call will also be available on GoCamels.com and The Varsity Network App.

Series History
The Camels and Seawolves met for the first time last season in Buies Creek, a 95-77 win for the Camels. Campbell handed out 30 assists on 36 made FG that night. Jasin Sinani had a nice game with 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Last Time Out
Campbell exploded for 54 points in the second half to down Monmouth 81-58. Caleb Zurliene scored a career-high 21 points in just 23 minutes off the bench. Nolan Dorsey turned in a solid game with a career-high 12 rebounds and stiff defense against Abdi Bashir Jr., the CAA's leading scorer.

The Camels and Hawks were tied at halftime before Campbell's big second half. CU shot 63% and went a perfect 15-15 at the stripe in the second half.

Scouting the Seawolves
Stony Brook enters 4-15, 0-6 in the CAA and in search of its first CAA victory. The Seawolves have lost seven in a row, coming off a pair of road losses at Delaware and Towson last weekend.

CJ Luster II leads the way on offense with 14.3 ppg on better than 40% from beyond the arc. The junior scored 20+ in four consecutive games before scoring only two points against Towson the last time out.

Stony Brook is led by Geno Ford in his sixth season with the program. The Seawolves were picked to finish ninth in the CAA preseason poll.

Looking Ahead
Campbell stays on Long Island for the weekend to face Hofstra on Saturday at noon. That one will be broadcast nationally on CBSSN.
