Lowrance joins men's basketball staff

BUIES CREEK - Jakob Lowrance has joined Jimmie Williams' staff as an assistant coach. Lowrance follows Williams to Buies Creek after working on the same staff at Anderson last season.

"There is nothing more important to me than building this program on a firm foundation," Head coach Jimmie Williams said. "We will do it with high character people. Coach Kob and his wife Rylee are amazing. I am thrilled they are coming to the Creek with us from Anderson. Coach Kob is a winner in every way and he will immediately make us better. He was the first person I talked to about joining us and the first to accept. He was involved in all aspects of the program coming off our championship season and he will do the same here. He has an excellent basketball mind, he is a hard worker, he is a genuine connector with the team, and he will always represent the program with class and care. I am really excited for the Campbell community to get to know Kob and Rylee."

Lowrance served a two-year stint at Anderson, working as the defensive coordinator in 2025-26, helping guide that team to a school-record 29 wins during a 29-3 season that ended with a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Across his two years he coached four all-conference selections and two all-region selections, including the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

His work as defensive coordinator helped AJ Wright Jr. win SAC defensive player of the year honors. His team defense was 34th nationally in defensive rating, 11th in steal percentage, and 23rd in opponent turnover percentage.

The 6'9" Lowrance is a 2019 graduate of Central Missouri (DII), and is a two-time all-conference player, and two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American. Lowrance appeared in 110 games for the Mules, averaging 10.8 ppg and 4.8 rpg for his career, as well as a career 42% three-point shooter.

Lowrance played professionally from 2019-24 before turning to coaching, with playing stops in Spain, Portugal, and Romania.

He is a Bethalto, Ill. native and is married to his wife, Rylee.
