Camels get comeback win at Hampton

HAMPTON, VA. - The Fighting Camels flipped a 10-point halftime deficit into an 11-point win Thursday night at Hampton, 66-55. Jasin Sinani led the way with 21 points, 16 of them in the second half to lead the comeback effort.

The win moves Campbell to 7-9, 2-1 in the CAA. Hampton drops to 8-8, 1-3 in the league. 

All five Campbell starters scored in double figures. In addition to Sinani's 21, Cam Gregory added 13, Colby Duggan had 12, and Nolan Dorsey and Caleb Zurliene had 10 apiece. 

Campbell got off to a sluggish start and trailed just 30-20 at the half. The Camels shot just 30% in the opening 20 minutes including just 2-10 from distance, while Sinani led Campbell with five points at the break. 

The Camels matched their first-half point total in just the first 10 minutes of the second half to take their first lead at 39-36. The hot start continued in a 24-6 run to give Campbell an eight point cushion. That lead grew to as many as 16 with roughly a minute to play as Campbell cruised to the 66-55 win. 

Campbell shot 57% in the second half and was much improved beyond the arc at 58% (7-12). Sinani was a perfect 6-6 from the floor in the second half, including 2-2 from downtown and also 2-2 at the stripe to score his 16 second-half points. 

Hampton was led by 15 points from George Beale Jr., while Kyrese Mullen added 10. 

Campbell is back in action Monday night at Elon. Tip-off is a late one at 9 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
