Camels score most goals of season in 4-0 win over William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – A goal and two assists from Daniel Santos Rosa helped power the Camels to a 4-0 win over William & Mary, Saturday night at Martin Family Stadium.

The Camels (6-3-4, 3-0-2 CAA) scored their most goals in a game this season while shutting out the Tribe (2-7-3, 1-4-1) for CU's fifth shutout of the season.

The match started in historic fashion, as Marco Wright scored just 21 seconds into the action. It's the fastest goal from kickoff in program history, beating out the previous record by five seconds, held by Willy Guadarrama on Oct. 6, 2005, against Stetson.

William & Mary took the opening kickoff, but Santos Rosa intercepted a long pass attempt and redirected the ball to the foot of Wright, who carried it all the way from midfield and fired the ball into the top right corner of goal from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Lotem Ben Dov added his second goal in three matches in the 20th minute to double the Campbell lead. Ben Dov found himself on the end of a Santos Rosa free kick at the back post and fought off the defender enough to send his first touch past the goalkeeper.

Santos Rosa provided his second assist of the night in the 34th minute on another set piece, this one a corner kick from the left side. Freshman defender Ronnie Garcia rose up above the rest and headed home for his first goal in a Campbell uniform.

The three goals in the first half matched the high for a full game this year for the Camels.

Santos Rosa finished the scoring in the 75th minute with his second goal of the season after multiple Camels put shots on goal that were saved.

The Camels put relentless pressure on the Tribe all match long, logging 21 shots and a season high 16 shots on goal. William & Mary recorded only two shots on goal, which were saved by Max Leviton and Luke Holdstock.

The Tribe committed nine fouls and were awarded three yellow cards. Campbell was whistled for 10 fouls and was shown one yellow card.
