BUIES CREEK — Campbell women's soccer dropped a close match against Towson on Thursday at Eakes Athletics Complex.
Campbell drops to 4-6-4 overall and 2-3-2 in CAA action while Towson moves to 4-4-6 and 2-2-3 in conference play.
Samantha Witte put the Camels out in front in the 5th minute of the match off the assist by Mia Fairchild and Ella Wineka. The trio dribbled the ball through the box before Witte capitalized off the pass from Fairchild who was found by Wineka.
Towson would even things up in the 17th minute as Kale'a Perry found the back of the net.
Ava Kanaar notched her third goal of the season in the 19th minute to put the Camels back out in front off the assist from Witte. Witte totaled a season high three points on the night.
The Tigers would once again find the equalizer in the 23rd minute of the match before securing the game winner with under 15 minutes in the half
Campbell looked to even things up in the second half with 11 total shots and five corner kicks but the Tiger defense held steady with eight saves in the final 45 minutes.
Campbell totaled a season high 11 shots on goal and tied its season high with nine corner kicks. Abby Connolly tallied a season high six shots with three on frame.
Next Up
The Camels return to action on Sunday against Drexel for Alumni Day. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will not be streamed.
